Stone and Wire Sculpture

I received a pair of “river rocks” as the prize from a jewelry making forum for March. They had a hole drilled slightly off center of each and were a silt/sand stone that had been well weathered and eroded in the environ of a stream. The smaller stone became the focal for a hemp string based necklace, but the larger stone 1.5 by 2.5 inches was way too large and heavy for a necklace. Likewise, forget bracelet, ring, etc. So I was cutting some lapis cabochons and thought of one that I had already cut, very angular and the complete opposite of the river stone. So I thought of the lapis as being like the phoenix and springing up out of the base (color and shape) in to beauty. The result is:
